Mission Statement

The School of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS) at Nevada State College is committed to providing a student-centered, outcomes-based education rooted in the humanities, physical sciences, and social sciences. We support the college’s role as a four-year comprehensive state institution by offering a wide range of degrees and by providing a richly-interactive, high-quality learning experience characterized by individualized attention, active learning, and rigorous academic standards.  These experiences enable students to become independent thinkers and lifelong learners who can express themselves creatively and solve problems effectively.  LAS degree programs encourage students to apply their knowledge in a variety of scholarly contexts while developing their communication, citizenship, and critical thinking skills.
