Attending a new college is a momentous occasion in a student’s life. We recognize that this time can be fun and exciting but is also a bit scary. The Student Orientation and Scorpion Welcome programs are designed to provide assistance and guidance throughout your college career, whether you have just graduated from high school or are transferring from another college. We are delighted to answer questions, address concerns and offer a hand in finding resources to help you get off to the right start and enjoy a successful finish at Nevada State College.
With these goals in mind, we have planned comprehensive orientation and welcome programs that are unique to first year or transfer students and the family and friends who support them.
The Orientation Program is mandatory for all new first year and transfer students before registering for courses.
The New Student Orientation and Registration Program is mandatory for all new first year and transfer students before registering for courses. This program focuses on providing information on academic requirements, financial aid, academic advising, and registering for fall classes.
Each program is two hours long and will start at the time listed below. Please request your date to attend as soon as possible.
Monday, May 6th: 4:00 pm
Thursday, May 30th: 4:00 pm
Tuesday, June 25th: 10:00 am
Wednesday, July 17th: 4:00 pm
Friday, July 26th: 2:00 pm
Wednesday, August 7th: 4:00 pm

*You will receive a confirmation and further information on location after your information has been verified (ie. Application and placement testing complete, transcripts received, etc.)
Please remember to bring your confirmation email to check-in to the program.
The Transfer Student Orientation Program is mandatory for all new transfer students before registering for courses.
Make sure to have your NSHE ID ready, as you will need this to sign in and get credit for successfully completing the program.
Once completed, your Registration Hold can take up to 2 business days to be removed.
*Please note, you must be officially admitted to complete the online orientation program.
