How did you get on the path that brought you to Nevada State College?
I got out of high school and really didn’t know what I wanted to do. I spent a few years at a community college and a university. In both settings I was lost in the crowd. I came to Nevada State somewhat on a whim, since my girlfriend at the time urged me to try some classes out.

How would you describe your experiences with Nevada State professors?
The professors at NSC are all rock stars in my mind. Through their guidance, I realized I wanted that for myself as well – to be a professor. Being a professor I could guide students just as they guided me.

What was it that made the difference in helping you get on the path you’re on today?
Before NSC, I had no real direction in my life or career. Taking classes at NSC, I finally knew not only what I wanted to do but how I was going to get there. The faculty and staff really came together and put me on the path I needed to be on.

As Henderson, NV native, could you share your interesting anecdote of your “early experiences” at NSC?
Growing up, I lived in a house that was literally a stone’s throw away from where NSC stands today. As a child, those were my old stomping grounds, and interestingly enough they still are today, only as a college student.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Ten years from now I hope to be teaching my own classes in a college setting, guiding my students just as my professors did with me. Who knows – maybe I could be teaching at Nevada State College!
