The Office of the Provost is responsible for ensuring the quality of the College’s academic programs and enhancing student learning through continuous improvement. Therefore, the Provost participates in the accreditation process and oversees an accreditation subcommittee charged with preparing the academic sections of the Institutional Self Study.
After conducting a comprehensive on-site review of Nevada State College in April 2009, The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), one of eight regional accrediting bodies that oversee the educational quality of higher education institutions in the United States, awarded continued recognition of Nevada State College’s accreditation candidacy status, the penultimate designation to full accreditation status.
