About the Center for Teaching and Learning-Assessment (CTLE-A)

The role of the CTLE-A is to provide opportunities for faculty development and support assessment. This role also includes designing professional development that supports faculty teaching and addresses department and faculty needs. The role of the CTLE-A is to also establish a systematic and consistent data tracking method for departments and faculty to ensure correlation of teaching practices to Nevada State College outcomes and key performances.

The responsibilities of the Center include but are not limited to collecting and assessing CORE curricular syllabi, curricular maps and key performance records.  The CTLE-A is also responsible for coordinating monthly meetings for the Assessment Institute and supporting faculty Assessment Committees. In addition, the Center coordinated full-time and part-time faculty development.

Goals of the CTLE-A include but are not limited to: (1) conceptualization of the CTLE-A with a unified vision reflective of the schools, programs and college; (2) development and implementation of an inclusive strategy to establish the foundation for the CTLE-A; (3) design and execution of a CTLE-A database to collect data and disseminate information in a systematic and cohesive manner; (4) coordination and implementation of professional development for full-time and part-time faculty; (5) effective utilization of technology and web-design to enhance faculty development; (6) coordination of the Assessment Institute and faculty Assessment Committees; (7) generation of reports from the Assessment Committees to provide an overview of findings and recommendations.
