Library Instructor Resources
The Nevada State College library offers a variety of library resources and services for instructors, such as course reserves, bibliographic instruction, and research assistance.
- Requesting Materials for the Library
- NSC Library is able to purchase materials for various programs so long as the materials fit into our collection development policy. If you'd like to request that the library purchase materials, please use this form.
- Electronic Reserves
- All Nevada State College Instructors are invited to use the electronic reserves. This means that each instructor can have articles permanently available for their students. To place an item on electronic reserve, please email a pdf copy of the article, along with the instructor name and class information to library@nsc.nevada.edu.
- Physical Reserves
- All NSC Instructors are invited to place their materials on physical reserve in the library. Reserve items are held for one semester, and are checked out to students in two hour increments. To place an item on reserve, simply bring the item(s) to the library and fill out the physical reserve form.
- Bibliographic Instruction
- As part of our accreditation plan, all NSC classes are required to utilize library resources as a part of at least one assignment. To assist in this effort, the library staff is always willing to offer a class in using the library. Classes can and should be catered specifically to the nature of the class’ current assignment. To set up an appointment for bibliographic instruction email library@nsc.nevada.edu or call (702)992-2800
- Research Assistance
- The library exists to serve faculty as well as students. Instructors are encouraged to meet with the library staff for assistance with any of their research needs.
