Regular and Accelerated Pre-Licensure Track
Pre-licensure students are required to complete a total of 128 credits to
include core and major requirements and 54 upper division nursing major
requirements.
To establish eligibility for admission into the BSN program students must have the following:
- A cumulative GPA of of 2.5 or above for all coursework.
- A nursing program-specific (i.e., program prerequisites) GPA of 3.0 or above. Courses completed with a grade of "C-" or lower will not be considered for transfer.
- A student must complete all prerequisite course requirements (Pre-Nursing Program) prior to entry into the upper division major.
- Score on Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).

RN to BSN Track
To establish eligibility for admission into the RN to BSN program, students must have the following:- Graduate of associate degree or diploma nursing program.
- A current Nevada Registered Nurse license that must be maintained throughout the course of the program.
- A cumulative GPA on all coursework of 2.5 or above and a nursing program-specific (i.e., program prerequisites) GPA of 3.0 or above.
Policy Changes in Nursing Admissions Criteria
Changes effective Fall 2006- Registered Nurses (RN) applying to the RN to BSN track are exempt from the TEAS test.
- Admission to Nevada State College (NSC) must be completed three (3) weeks prior to the School of Nursing application deadline. This includes submission of all transcripts and payment of the application fee.
- Biological science courses, BIOL 223, BIOL 224 and BIOL 251 (Anatomy and Physiology 1, Anatomy and Physiology II and Microbiology) may only be taken two (2) times.
- Biological science courses, BIOL 223, BIOL 224 and BIOL 251 (Anatomy and PHysiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II and Microbiology) must have been taken within seven (7) years of the date of application to the School of Nursing.
- The GPA utilized for admission into the School of Nursing will be determined using grades up to and including the semester prior to a student applying to the School of Nursing.
- Applications must be filled out completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- All applications must be accompanied by a Degree Audit Report (DARs).
